Sometimes, we have to dive into conversations we’d rather avoid. I recently sat down with Logan (the husband) to unpack a tough topic I initially planned to discuss with someone else. But honestly, I’m so glad it ended up being with him because this discussion needed real honesty and transparency, two things that can make most people uncomfortable.

We dove into accountability in the coaching and entertainment industries, and y’all, it’s a lot. We’re talking about Snoop, Diddy, and even some coaches you follow and support – the people you might want to rethink supporting. And listen, we don’t have to agree. That’s not the point. The point is that we need to have the conversation.

When Our “Leaders” Let Us Down

Lately, it feels like we’re constantly seeing public figures disappoint us. Whether it’s entertainers, self-proclaimed gurus, or industry leaders, too many are prioritizing profit over principles. And yet, we continue to support them. Why? Because they’ve built trust. They’ve built influence. And for many, they’ve become more than just public figures; in some ways, they’re representations of something bigger.

But when their actions don’t align with their words or our beliefs, we have to ask: are we okay with that? Do we keep supporting them simply because we always have? Or do we hold them accountable?

The Cost of Fast Money & False Expertise

Logan and I agree that too many people are positioning themselves as experts without the experience, knowledge, or integrity to back it up. This is happening in coaching, entertainment, and everyday business.

And the problem? These so-called experts are capitalizing on people’s vulnerabilities. They attract, then they take advantage. They market a dream, but they don’t deliver results. And because there’s no real regulation in these industries, anyone can wake up and decide they’re a coach, a mentor, or a leader, no proof required.

The Power of Choice & The Need for Standards

We have choices. We don’t have to consume their content, buy their products, or keep giving them our attention.

But beyond that, we need to raise the standard. We need to demand transparency and integrity from the people we choose to support. That means questioning credentials, looking beyond the hype, and refusing to buy into the illusion of expertise without proof.

Accountability Isn’t Cancel Culture

There’s a big difference between cancel culture and accountability. Holding people responsible for their actions isn’t about tearing them down; it’s about ensuring they understand the impact of their choices. And yet, every time a public figure faces backlash, there’s always that group that jumps in with “Why now?” or “What about so-and-so?”

Let’s be real: just because something wasn’t addressed before doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be addressed now. We have access to more information than ever. We see what’s happening in real time. And with that awareness comes responsibility.

We Can’t Keep Ignoring the Patterns

This isn’t just about Snoop, Diddy, or the latest celebrity scandal. It’s about a culture that lets power, influence, and money excuse bad behavior. It’s about a cycle we keep repeating.

So, what do we do?

  • Stop supporting those who don’t align with our values.
  • Speak up. Public opinion matters more than we think.
  • Ask better questions. Who are we really following? Do they walk their talk?
  • Hold people accountable, no matter who they are.

At the end of the day, we have the power to shift culture, to demand better, to expect more, and that starts with conversations like this.

I already know I’m about to get comments on this one, and I welcome them. Let’s talk about it. Agree, disagree, challenge, but be open to a real dialogue. And be real about it because real conversations lead to real change.

Let me know your thoughts. Let’s keep this discussion going.
